Hey everyone! Hope you're having a great Winter Break! After talking with Classics members and Dwight, I've decided to add a rehearsal on Monday Jan 16th from 9AM-5PM. This will really help us as we aim to make sure we're ready to blow people away at our first competition! I understand the addition of a rehearsal can throw a wrench into family schedules. If there is a conflict, I ask that students please contact me so we can devise a plan to make up what they missed. A student is never penalized for missing a rehearsal that wasn't previously scheduled. I appreciate everyone's patience as I continue to orient myself to the new role of being the director of the Classics.
Here's what the schedule looks like as we near our first competition at Mt. Zion! GO CLASSICS! Tuesday Jan. 3rd 10AM-6PM (Show Band 4pm-6pm) Thursday Jan. 5th 6PM-9PM (Show Band 5:30-9PM) Monday Jan. 9th 6PM-9PM (Show Band 5:30-9PM) Thursday Jan. 12th 6PM-9PM (Show Band 5:30-9PM)
Tuesday Jan. 17th 6PM-9PM (Show Band 5:30-9PM) Wednesday Jan.18th 6PM-9PM (Show Band 5:30-9PM) Thursday Jan. 19th 5PM-7PM (pre preview rehearsal) Thursday Jan. 19th 8PM PREVIEW SHOW! Saturday Jan. 21 MT ZION!!!

For the past two years, a combination of members of the old Show Choir bands have put on a show at Arrrowhead Golf Club on Dec. 26th. And this year they are doing it again. This year's band will be comprised of 10 previous members (4 piece rhythm section and a 6 piece horn section). It is a great time and the band puts on a great show.
The Boys will be back in town!!! For the 3rd year, Results May Vary & the LMN Orchestra will be rocking Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton on Dec. 26th. Come join the band for some great music and a little post-Christmas celebration. Results May Vary: Adam Curry Devon Curry Joe Cleveland Drew Curry The LMN Orchestra: Mike Burge Mitch Dzugan Jack Mangan Matt Dzugan Charles Kay Scott Carrick Special performances by: Matthew Moore Hey gang! So, with the Holidays making everything pretty busy around here, I wanted to let you know what the official schedule for Classics and Show Band will be. There's been some developments, so PLEASE READ IT ALL! Thanks! I apologize for any confusion!
MONDAY DEC 12 NO CLASSICS. ----SHOW BAND is with Mrs. Nichols from 4:30-5:30 (Band, Sorry I messed this up with my text over the weekend) THURSDAY DEC 15 CLASSICS 4:30-6:30 due to Wiesbrook's Holiday Concert that evening. NO SHOW BAND FRIDAY DEC 16 (Wiesbrook Performance) CLASSICS Dismissed from school at 1:00PM. We wil then travel to Wiesbrook to perform exactly what we just did at Clinic for them at 1:30. Immediately after the performance we'll head back to South (around 1:45). SHOW BAND will NOT attend this performance. Wear what you wore for clinic performance. SATURDAY DEC 17 If you can (open to Classics and Show Band), please join us for Christmas Caroling at Dupage Convalescent Center 2PM-3PM. I'll provide the carol sheet music, just meet me there. Wear whatever Classics gear you feel like wearing. Following that, Classics and Show Band are all invited to a bowling outing at Fox Bowl from 3:30-5:30. 2 hours of bowling, pizza and pop will be provided. I know schedules are busy, so if you can make none or just some of the stuff going on this day, I completely understand! It's really hard to believe that clinic is here already! Here's some last minute details: SINGER/DANCERS ARRIVAL: Be at Naperville North by 7:45AM. ATTIRE: Wear your rehearsal t-shirts for the performance. Girls wear black leggings and guys wear jeans. Please wear tennis shoes as well. For the rehearsals, wear rehearsal shirt and whatever pants/shorts you feel most comfortable moving in. LUNCH: is at 12:40PM and is a taco bar from Las Palma. They’ll also have water coolers and granola bars/fruit during transitions—it’s a long day! PUBLIC PERFORMANCE: 4PM parents can come see what we've got so far! ACT Students: Will attend as soon as they are done with testing. If they are done in time to grab luch with the rest of us, GREAT! If not, please grab something on the way over. SHEDULE FOR THE DAY: Click Here SHOW BAND ARRIVAL: Be at Naperville North by 3:30PM. ATTIRE: School clothes are fine. PUBLIC PERFORMANCE: 4PM parents can come see what we've got so far! EQUIPMENT: Bring your indvidual instruments. We'll borrow amps, drum set, aux percussion and keyboards from Naperville North. COORDINATING WITH WWS BAND CONCERT: We're second on the program, so I'm assuming that the band will be done shortly after 4:30, and can carpool to South to get there in time for the 5:00 band rehearsal before the Holiday Pops Concert. Sounds like the students are going to bring their concert clothes with them and change after their Holiday Pops Rehearsal. Please let me know if there are other questions! MR. MILLER * Instead of going 6:30-9:30, we are going to go 6:00-9:00 for all rehearsals marked as "extended for comp season". This allows the kids to still get home and get going on homework at a decent time.
* There is no rehearsal on December 12 (that's the WWS Winter Choral Concert) * The clinic on Satruday is at Naperville North High School --899 North Mill Street • Naperville, IL 60563--- * The clinic begins at 8AM. Please have your child there by 7:45AM. It concludes with a public performance at 4PM. * We're working hard on our show and can't wait til it all comes together! GO CLASSICS! MR. MILLER Students,
It's time to make our rooming list for competitions. This list will stay the same for all of our hotel stays. Here's what you need to do: 1. Find a buddy. This buddy can be a member of Classics, Esprit, or Show Band, but they must be of the same gender. 2. Choose ONE of you to fill out the form at the end of this email. -What if I can't find a buddy? No problem! Sign yourself up on the form and write "Needs Buddy" where it asks for the buddy's name. We will find a buddy for you! -Am I guaranteed to be with my buddy? Yes. On the form, there will be a question that says, "We would also like to request rooming with..." If you have A PAIR OF BUDDIES that you would like to room with, put BOTH of their names there. Otherwise, only put a single name if you know that that person DOES NOT have a buddy. -Do I need to fill in that box? Nope. -Am I guaranteed to be put with this pair of buddies? We will do our best, but it is not guaranteed. This is due by 10:00PM on Monday, December 5th. At that time, anyone not signed up will be placed in a room with availability.
